Welcome to St. Mark Catholic Church Community
Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Established as a parish of the Colorado Springs Diocese on Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000, we became St. Mark Catholic Church to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ as journeying people. We will model the gospel of Saint Mark and make sure those considered on the “outside” of society are truly on the “inside” of the Kingdom of God. "No one will be left in the dust." Our motto is "We can be kind and we can take care of each other." We would be honored to have you worship with us.

Faith Formation 2008-2009
Information about the various faith formation options for 2008-09 is available in the following newsletter: Faith Sharing with Flexibility and Options. More details and online registration for Faith Formation and Youth Ministry will be available from July 14th thru August 18th on the ShowMyEvent Website. Forms for registration are also available in the lower level. Volunteers are needed and they may also register either online or at church. Questions should be directed to Katherine at the church office.

St Mark Gets New Youth Minister
The St Mark Parish family welcomes the most recent addition to our staff - Nicholas Moragues, Director of Youth Ministry. Listen as Nicholas shares some of his background and visions for our younger (RAFT & TUFF) members. The 2008 fall season kicks off on Sunday, September 7th.

St Mark Golf Tournament, Dinner and Dance
The 2008 golf tournament, dinner and dance (not a fund raiser) for fellowship and celebration will be held on Friday, September 5th. The golf event is at Highlands Ranch Golf Club with a 12:30 pm tee time. The Dinner and dance will be in the lower level of church. All parishioners are invited along with friends, family and neighbors. View details. Registration deadline for the St Mark Bushwood Classic International Open is September 1st. Cuisine for the Spirit
Cuisine for the Spirit is kicking off the 2008 fall season with a wine and appetizer get together on Saturday, August 30th at 6:30 pm in the lower level. Bring your favorite appetizer or a bottle of wine to join the festivities. Cuisine is a great way to meet new people and share in a meal together. More information is available here.

2008-2009 Safe Environment Training Update
All volunteers who work in any ministry with children and youth are required to wear a photo ID badge. The 2007-2008 photo badges are now expired. To receive a 2008-2009 photo badge, please plan to attend one of the many SET Update offerings prior to service in children's/youth ministry. The next training date for both Foundational and Update is October 6th at 7:00 pm in the lower level.

Faithful Citizenship
Every four years, prior to a general election in the United States, the Bishops of our country create a document reminding us of our privilege and responsibility to be informed voters when we approach the polls in November. This years's document, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, once again calls us to political responsibility and offers guidance and information, including the seven themes of Catholic Social Teachings, to assist us in our decision making process. As the bishops themselves say, "We bishops seek to help Catholics form their consciences in accordance with the truth, so they can make sound moral choices in addressing these challenges. We do not tell Catholics how to vote. The responsibility to make political choices rest with each person and his or her properly formed conscience."

The summary text of Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship is available at www.faithfulcitizenship.org/resources/bulletin.
